About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Director to join our team at Core Education. The Procurement Director will play a crucial role in establishing and managing the purchasing department, implementing a robust technical system for procurement, and setting up competitive bid processes. This position will support a shared services model with a segment of Core's college partners, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement practices.

What you'll do

1. Establish and lead the purchasing department, including developing procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines.
2. Implement a technical system tailored to purchasing and procurement needs, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency.
3. Develop and manage competitive bid processes to obtain the best value for Core Education and its college partners.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to identify procurement needs and negotiate contracts.
5. Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
6. Analyze procurement data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
7. Provide leadership and guidance to procurement staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
8. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on setting up purchasing departments and implementing procurement systems.
- Proven track record of successfully managing competitive bid processes and negotiating contracts.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in the education sector or with similar non-profit organizations is a plus.
