Cornerstone Energy Services, Inc. specializes in engineering, survey, and land solutions for the energy infrastructure sector. From initial concept through project completion, we provide comprehensive services including civil, process, mechanical, and I&E engineering; project management; survey and mapping; and right-of-way acquisition.
We collaborate closely with developers and operators of oil and gas pipelines and electric transmission systems, supporting both extensive linear projects and site-specific developments. Our work is guided by three core values:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Leads engineering related activities on one or more projects.
· Coordinate assigned activities with other job families.
· Manage the development and implementation of family related goals, objectives, and policies.
· Work with the Human Resources Coordinator to hire new engineering talent and conduct performance reviews
with existing employees.
· Manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for each assigned
service area.
· Select, train, motivate and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with
employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures; and guide less senior
engineers towards licensure.
· Oversee and participate in the development and administration of the department budget; approve the forecast
of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; approve expenditures and implement budgetary
adjustments as appropriate and necessary.
· Attend and participate in professional group meetings and committees; stay abreast of new trends and
innovations in the field of relevant engineering disciplines and maintenance. Contribute to industry white papers
and speak or teach at industry events.
· Participate in the development and execution of business development programs and initiatives, including
proactively seeking out new opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships.
· Ensure engineering team follows Company standards and procedures.
· Meticulously follow Company quality procedures and utilize quality tools. Participate in effectiveness evaluations
and lead improvement initiatives.
· Provide information, suggestions, advice and technical assistance to city, county and district officials and
programs by answering questions, interpreting applicable laws and regulations and other entities to resolve
problems.
· Direct and supervise other engineer's activities.
· Although not the primary responsibility of this position, when needed, a Principal Engineer has the ability to
perform the responsibilities identified in the Engineer III job description.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Duties are performed in office and field settings.
· Office work may include prolonged seated tasks, extended keyboarding, and use of computer screens.
· Field settings may include work outdoors and on construction sites during all weather conditions.
· May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
· Position may require travel (up to 50%); valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25
pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Consistently demonstrates high levels of mechanical engineering technical knowledge, ingenuity, and creativity.
· Expert knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices and the ability to apply them
· The ability to balance multiple tasks, along with strong communication skills is essential.
· The ability to make decisions and find alternative solutions to problems.
· The ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment.
· The ability to prioritize tasks based on impact.
· The ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
· Excellent verbal communication skills, including public speaking
EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and substantial professional development required.
· Master’s degree or PhD strongly preferred.
· Fifteen or more years of progressive engineering experience.
· Licensed Professional Engineer.
· Meaningful operations or construction experience required.
