About the role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Engineering to interface with our engineering organization and our GTM teams as we continue to build innovative SaaS solutions for the Energy industry. This role will oversee multiple integrated teams responsible for delivering cloud-native applications, and real-time solutions that power critical decision-making across the energy sector.

You will play a key role in shaping our technology roadmap, scaling our engineering team, and ensuring that our products are secure, scalable, and reliable for our customers in a high-demand, data-rich environment.


What you'll do


Leadership & Strategy

  • Define the engineering vision and strategy in alignment with business goals and the needs of our Energy SaaS platform.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering teams across product lines, from real-time data processing to cloud-based dashboards.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven engineering culture with a strong focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.

Technology & Execution

  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and expertise.
  • Guide teams through modern development practices including CI/CD, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of our platform as usage grows across oilfield operations.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Partner closely with Product, Data Science, Customer Success, and Industry SMEs to ensure features align with real-world operator workflows.
  • Drive the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality product releases.
  • Translate complex technical and business requirements into clear execution plans for engineering teams.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional growth within the engineering organization.

Domain Expertise & Customer Impact

  • Understand the complexities of upstream and midstream Energy operations, including drilling, completions, production, and logistics.
  • Lead engineering efforts that support field digitization, data integration, asset optimization, and emissions tracking.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and improve product-market fit.

Team Growth & Operations

  • Attract and retain top-tier engineering talent with experience in SaaS and/or industrial data systems.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with external partners and vendors as needed.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, with a strong background in SaaS, cloud platforms, and data-intensive applications.
  • Experience building and scaling platforms that serve industrial or enterprise clients, preferably in the Energy or energy sector.
  • A firm understanding of software development lifecycle, microservices architecture, and cloud-native tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven success in managing multiple teams and delivering complex software solutions at scale.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or related field.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working directly with Energy companies, industrial IoT platforms, or SCADA systems.
  • Previous Corva software experience. 
  • Familiarity with time-series data, geospatial applications, or machine learning models in operational workflows.
  • Understanding of relevant compliance and cybersecurity standards in energy and SaaS environments.
