About COUR
COUR is a clinical stage biotech company with a mission to restore health in autoimmune patients by developing first-in-class, disease-modifying, targeted therapies to safely regulate and calm the immune system. Our portfolio consists of three mid-to-late-stage proprietary programs: PBC, myasthenia gravis (MG), and type 1 diabetes (T1D), and our platform positions us to broaden our impact in antigen-specific autoimmune conditions.
About the role
As an Associate Scientist specializing in nanoparticle generation at COUR Pharmaceuticals, you will play a crucial role in the optimization of our nanoparticle platform technology. Your work will directly contribute to advancing our pipeline of therapies aimed at treating a wide range of immune-mediated and inflammatory conditions. This role will also involve supporting GLP of COUR Nanoparticles and associated drug substances, so adherence to and understanding of COUR quality guidelines and regulatory guidance where required is critical. Training will be provided. Your contributions will support both preclinical research and early-stage manufacturing processes. This role will report to the senior scientist within the R&D downstream group.
What you'll do
- Optimize, and characterize novel nanoparticles designed to encapsulate disease-specific antigens for immune modulation.
- Conduct detailed physicochemical and biophysical characterization of nanoparticles to ensure optimal performance.
- Work closely with senior scientist with the department and cross-functional teams to integrate nanoparticle design with immune-modifying strategies.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and contribute to the publication of findings in scientific journals and presentations at conferences.
- Ensure that all research and development activities comply with applicable regulatory standards and guidelines.
Qualifications
- B.S or M.S. in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or related field. Prior industry experience is a plus.
- Experience in designing, executing, and analyzing particle-based drug delivery systems is required. Experience with encapsulation of biological molecules is preferred.
- Knowledge in at least one of the following drug delivery systems: synthetic polymer-based drug delivery systems, nanoparticle functionalization and targeting, or lipid nanoparticles.
- Proficiency with a broad spectrum of analytical techniques applicable to particle-based drug delivery systems (e.g., DLS, SEM, UV-Vis, HPLC, FTIR, NMR, flow cytometry)
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a demonstrated ability to overcome technical
The level of this position will be based on the final candidate’s qualifications.
Why Join COUR Pharmaceuticals?
- Be part of a pioneering team developing revolutionary therapies with the potential to cure autoimmune diseases.
- Collaborate with top-tier academic and clinical partners.
- Contribute to science that has the potential to transform patients' lives.
- Engage in an inclusive and dynamic work environment that fosters learning and growth.
