About the role
We are seeking a meticulous and strategic Finance Operations Analyst to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the health and efficiency of our day-to-day finance operations, with a strong emphasis on Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), reconciliations, payroll, and financial forecasting. You’ll act as a critical liaison with external bookkeepers, ensuring accurate financial data and clean, timely reporting to support strategic decision-making.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end AR processes including invoicing, collections, aging analysis, and revenue reconciliation.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Sales to ensure timely billing and payment resolution.
- Improve AR processes and reduce DSO (days sales outstanding).
- Oversee all outgoing payments and vendor management.
- Manage AP workflows including expense tracking, purchase order approvals, and vendor compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and key balance sheet accounts.
- Coordinate closely with bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and consistency in general ledger data.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and reconciliations.
- Coordinate payroll processing with HR and payroll providers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support payroll tax filings, employee benefit deductions, and compensation reporting.
- Partner with leadership to develop financial forecasts, cash flow models, and budget-to-actual analysis.
- Provide insight into operational trends and variance explanations to support planning and performance management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external bookkeepers.
- Conduct regular reviews of financial data to ensure compliance and internal policies.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and investor reporting packages.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow to support financial planning and reporting.
- Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue and revenue recognition schedules.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in finance operations, accounting, or related roles.
- Strong background in AR, AP, and reconciliation processes.
- Proven experience managing payroll systems and procedures.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Stripe).
- Deep understanding of financial controls, accrual-based and cash-based accounting, and reconciliation practices.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial and business information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Knowledge of SaaS business models and revenue recognition.
- Exposure to forecasting, FP&A tools, or financial modeling.
- Fluency in one or more non-English languages.

The pay range for this role is:
75,000 - 95,000 CAD per year (Remote (Canada))
