The mission of the Accounting Analyst at Cozey

You will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and performing general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, the ability to be a self-starter, have a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: 
  • Project Management & Execution: Lead or support project to provide financial guidance and ensure the successful execution of project plans. 
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other reports as needed. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices. 
  • General Ledger Management: Record financial transactions, ensure all ledger entries are accurate, up to date and respect ASPE. 
  • Revenue Accounting & Accuracy: Perform weekly revenue accuracy audits between the ERP and payment platform. 
  • Inventory Accounting: Assist in managing and reconciling inventory data in collaboration with the operations team. 
  • Expense Tracking & Budgeting: Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring adherence to budget. 
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in tax filings, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. 
  • Audit Support: Help prepare documentation for audits and liaise with external auditors. 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred. 
  • 1-4 years of experience in accounting, preferably at a Big 4 accounting firm. 
  • Proficiency with the office suite, especially Excel. 
  • Knowledge of an accounting software or ERP, preferably NetSuite, is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of ASPE and IFRS. 
  • Knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations is a plus. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
