We are seeking a Medical Assistant who is passionate about clinical skincare, patient education, and holistic wellness. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected, fast-growing practice known for its advanced services, strong reputation, and high standard of care.
Work Schedule:
Full Time - Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in our main location, Chula Vista, Tuesday 9:00 am - 3:30 pm in our Pacific Beach location.
Compensation:
$23/hr. - $25/hr. commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Support
- Greet patients and prepare them for treatments or consultations
- Take and record vital signs, medical history, and treatment notes
- Provide pre- and post-treatment care instructions to patients
- Assist providers with aesthetic procedures (e.g., injectables, laser treatments, facials, peels)
- Maintain a professional, compassionate, and welcoming patient experience
Clinical & Technical Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies for procedures
- Ensure proper sanitation and sterilization of instruments
- Set up and break down procedure areas following safety and compliance guidelines
- Perform basic clinical tasks within scope of practice (e.g., applying topical anesthetics, assisting with dressings)
Administrative & Operational Support
- Schedule patient appointments and manage calendars
- Document treatments, services, and patient records in EMR system
- Assist with inventory management of medical and spa supplies
- Process payments, handle patient inquiries, and support front desk as needed
Team Collaboration
- Cross-train and support both clinical and front-of-house staff
- Contribute to a collaborative, service-focused team environment
- Participate in ongoing training on procedures, products, and safety protocols
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program strongly preferred
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) preferred
- Must meet California Medical Board requirements to work as a Medical Assistant, including documented training and supervision by a licensed provider
- 2 + years of experience in a medical office, dermatology, plastic surgery, or MedSpa environment preferred
- Strong understanding of patient safety, infection control, and HIPAA compliance
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and scheduling software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and hospitality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with flexibility to support multiple functions
