Reporting to the Controller, e are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated General Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end reporting processes. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate is required to be in the Montreal office on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
- Maintain and update financial records and documentation
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA candidate or pursuing certification
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-location organizations
