About Crane Center for Transgender Surgery
The Crane Center is a world-renowned Transgender surgical practice, with locations in Greenbrae, California, Boulder, Colorado, and Austin, Texas. We have eight highly specialized surgeons and a multidisciplinary clinical team which allows us to offer all aspects of gender-affirming surgery.
Surgical Coordinator
Reports to: Assistant Practice Manager
Supervises: N/A
Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Schedules surgical procedures for the providers in both the Boulder location.
· Considers physician’s priorities, patient and equipment/special needs when scheduling surgical procedures and post-operative appointments.
· Interfaces with appropriate vendor staff to ensure all necessary equipment will be on site for office and hospital-based procedures, including scheduling with contracted providers as indicated.
· Enters notes/special instructions needed for scheduling in the electronic medical record.
· Effectively utilizes clinical knowledge when determining if appointment is consistent with the diagnosis/indications specified by the provider.
· Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding time and location of scheduled procedure and related appointments.
· Takes appropriate action in responding to questions from patients regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner.
· Welcomes patients/clients/visitors, determines the purpose of visit and directs them to appropriate person.
· Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls. Routes calls appropriately, offering voice mail, paging, or redirection of calls as needed.
· Facilitates patient flow and communicates delays with patients and clinical staff.
· Appropriately and courteously screens solicitors for relevance to organization needs.
· Collects payments for products, services and copays as required.
· Rooms patients and does basic vitals, as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience, Education, Abilities, and Skills:
· Minimum of at least 2 year of surgery scheduling experience
· Knowledge of Medical Terminology
· Knowledge of Medical Coding
· Experience with EMR
· Evidence of strong leadership qualities
· Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, operational, and organizational skills.
· Must have the ability to work independently with minimal instructions, multi-task with commitment to accuracy, detail, follow-up and follow-through
· Experienced with MAC, Office 365 and other related products
· Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish preferred
The pay range for this role is:
24 - 28 USD per hour (Boulder, CO)
