DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Prior Authorizations Specialist to join our team and help us ensure that our patients receive the care they need promptly. As a Prior Authorizations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the prior authorization process for medical services. Your role will involve coordinating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and process prior authorization requests for medical services.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation and information.
  • Submit prior authorization requests to insurance companies and follow up on the status.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prior authorization activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Stay updated on insurance policies and guidelines to ensure compliance.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in prior authorizations, medical billing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical privacy laws.
