About Crane Center for Transgender Surgery
The Crane Center is a world-renowned Transgender surgical practice, with clinical locations in Greenbrae, CA, Boulder, CO, and Austin, TX. We have eight highly specialized surgeons and a multidisciplinary clinical team, which allows us to offer all aspects of gender-affirming surgery.
About the role
The Clinical Assistant serves as a liaison between patients and providers. They support efficient clinical operations and deliver excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-op and post-op patient care in the clinic setting
- Assist surgeons & physician assistants during office visits, rooming patients, vital signs, taking medical histories, wound care, suture removal, preparing for exams, etc.
- Collection of laboratory specimens
- Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Transcribes patient orders, including but not limited to laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- Performs basic clerical duties, including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
- Performs basic materials management functions, including stocking of supplies and preparing lists for re-ordering supplies.
- General office skills including keyboarding, office computer software, filing, answering telephones, email, faxing, and copying.
- Maintains confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations in handling patient information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications
- Must have recent clinic experience
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work well as part of a team and independently
- Must be organized, able to multitask, and have excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Experience with EMR System Athena - Preferred
- Experience utilizing MAC and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish - Preferred
Education / Experience Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification in either CMA, CNA, PCT, EMT, or similar
- BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) - Preferred

- This is a full-time position on-site
- Normal work hours will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
