The Crane Center is a world-renowned Transgender surgical practice located in Greenbrae, CA, Boulder, CO, and Austin, TX. We have eight highly specialized surgeons and a multidisciplinary surgical team which allows us to offer all aspects of gender-affirming surgery.

Description
The Surgical Physician Assistant will assist in the overall management of patient care, both in the office/clinic and hospital settings. The Surgical Physician Assistant will collaborate with all members of the Patient Care Team.
Responsibilities Include:
Serving as a first assist in the OR
Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning pre and post-operative health, treatment options, and community resources in both the hospital (rounding) and out-patient (clinic) settings.
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies.
Provides telephone and/or email consultations with patients to answer questions regarding pre-operative concerns, post-operative care, and general surgical questions, during normal office hours and as a part of the “on-call” schedule as determined by the practice.
Must be proficient with Mac/Apple products.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of First Assist experience. Urology and/or Plastic Surgery preferred.
- Current PA license - eligible for licensure in CA, CO, and TX
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Current certification of NCCPA.
- Prescription authority and DEA number.
- Surgical Physician Assistant: 3 years (Preferred)
- Ability to Relocate to Austin, TX before starting work (Required)

The pay range for this role is:
110,000 - 150,000 USD per year (Austin, TX)
