About the role 

The role will support efficient clinical operations and assist in all aspects of excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position supports the clinical work of its surgeons, both pre- and post-surgery. This clinical role is patient-facing and involves the coordination of care and documentation across departments. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordination of care both pre-op and post-op in the clinic setting 
  • Daily tasks include rooming patients, collecting vital signs and preparing the patient to collect medical history and exams 
  • Assisting clinical team with wound care, suture removal, and other tasks involving pre- and post-op care 
  • Collection of laboratory specimens required for surgery. 
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly environment in clinic rooms and ensuring equipment/devices are readily available for use by surgeons/PA. 
  • Responsibilities include supply management for patient care 
  • Assisting clinical team with documentation of orders sets, including but not limited to laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.  
  • The role includes basic clerical duties: responding to documentation requests from our hospital partner, patients, and colleagues. 
  • Proactively communicate at all levels with the goal of updating charts and follow up on patient care.  
  • The role will be responsible for maintaining patient electronic records. Athena is our EMR of choice. 
  • Other duties as assigned related to patient care. 

 

Key Qualifications 

  • Must have recent clinic experience 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team and independently 
  • Ability to make critical decisions to escalate urgent issues, follow federal/state laws governing patient care. 
  • Must be organized, able to multitask, and be comfortable with electronic EMR and software applications. 
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and HIPAA regulations 
  • Willingness to continue education and training in the medical assistant field and completing mandatory annual training. 
  • Experience with EMR System Athena – Preferred but required 
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite 

 

Education / Experience Required 

  • Evidence of completion of High school diploma or GED  
  • Certification in either CMA, CNA, PCT, EMT, or any clinical training that includes medical assistant tasks in its curriculum 
  • BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) - Preferred.  
  • Ability and willingness to fill any gaps in credentials and education during employment periods. 

Work Location 

  • Boulder, CO 

Work Hours 

  • This is a full-time position on-site 
  • Normal work hours will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm 
  • We follow state rules and regulations in managing benefits, overtime, and breaks.
