Create Music Group is building a modular, next-generation platform that powers the entire lifecycle of a modern record label: from discovery and signing, through distribution, marketing, analytics, and beyond. We’re looking for a Product Design Lead, Systems & Practice — a hands-on design leader who defines what great looks like by designing it. You’ll shape the systems, culture, and craft that make great design scalable, while staying close to the pixels, patterns, and people that bring it to life.

This role is about creating the design DNA that connects every experience across our platform — transforming complexity into clarity and shaping how design happens at Create, not just what it looks like. You’ll combine deep design thinking, customer insight, and emerging AI capabilities to evolve our foundations and elevate design as a creative force across the company.

Responsibilities

Design and evolve our platform systems

Lead the creation and evolution of our design system — defining modular foundations, patterns, and frameworks that unify our products and scale quality across teams. Leverage AI and automation to improve accessibility, governance, and production efficiency

Simplify complex workflows

Work directly with creators, partners, and teams to understand real-world needs. Prototype and deliver intuitive, scalable solutions that turn complexity into clarity and empower teams to design with speed and consistency

Lead with design thinking

Frame problems, bring clarity to ambiguity, and raise the bar for what great design looks like across products and experiences

Champion design excellence and practice

Model high-quality design in your own work and foster a culture of critique, shared principles, and continuous improvement across the organization

Drive adoption and alignment

Partner with engineers and product managers to embed platform-first thinking into product roadmaps — ensuring shared systems are adopted, maintained, and evolved collaboratively

Mentor and elevate

Guide designers in systems thinking, platform design, and the creative use of AI tools — helping the team grow their craft, confidence, and impact

Qualifications

  • A hands-on design leader with 8+ years of experience designing and shipping complex products, platforms, or workflow systems
  • Proven ability to build or evolve design systems that scale across multiple teams and products
  • Deep understanding of design thinking and research, and the ability to turn insight into elegant, scalable solutions
  • A passion for developing design practice and culture — from critique to craft to cross-functional collaboration
  • Curiosity about AI in design and how emerging tools can unlock new ways of working
  • Strong communication and influence skills; able to lead through craft, clarity, and collaboration rather than hierarchy

Pay Scale

  • $150,000 - $175,000 per year
  • The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s location, experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
