Publishing Administrator

Job Summary


This Publishing Administrator role is responsible for maintaining the catalog metadata of our CBMG/Broke catalog,  delivering song registrations, and settling  split disputes with collection societies and publishers.  Candidates with Label Engine or other music distribution services (Distrokid, Tunecore, CD Baby, etc.) experience are preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Onboarding writers under CBMG / Broke to Publishing service
  • Maintaining and updating metadata in internal database for CBMG/Broke catalog
  • Researching catalogs, publishing credits, and recording information
  • Delivering registrations to collection societies
  • Resolving claim disputes with collection societies and publishers
  • Creating recording matches in MLC and CMRRA for catalog
  • Resolving MLC overclaims
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications 

  • 1–3 years of experience or education in music publishing administration; experience at a music publishing company or record label preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; familiarity with Mac OSX and other productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
  • Experience working with collections societies (ASCAP, BMI, Harry Fox, MLC, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data management systems
  • Basic understanding of music publishing rights
  • Ability to conduct basic research and analysis
  • Excellent client services skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of internet culture and social media platforms

Pay Scale

  • $20.00 - 23.00 per hour
  • The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
