Job Summary
The Senior Data Engineer will be working alongside our Global Data Team. This role is tasked with managing and organizing data while building and maintaining our data products with a focus on data pipelines and data warehouses. The role also supports other teams in data processing and data analytics, and also supports Google Cloud Platform (GCP) management.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines for ELT/ETL processes from diverse sources
- Continuously optimize data pipelines for enhanced performance, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
- Monitor data pipelines to ensure data quality and promptly troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Collaborate closely with the data analytics team and business stakeholders to understand and address data needs arising from operational processes
- Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for data pipelines, systems, and applications
- Conduct code reviews with teammates and provide guidance to junior members
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in data engineering to contribute to the evolution of data infrastructureDescribe the specific responsibilities and job functions of the role
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools
- Demonstrated experience in API development and management
- Experience with GCP platform, cloud infrastructure, and container environments; familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes is highly desirable
- Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies and programming languages as required
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, CloudBuild, Terraform, etc.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, LookerStudio, or Looker.
- Exposure to data science or machine-learning packages (Pandas, PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow, etc.)
