Digital Operations Coordinator (Fixed-Term Employment Contract)

Job Summary

The Digital Operations Coordinator supports the technical and operational execution of releases across the Monstercat label ecosystem, from onboarding and metadata input through distribution support and platform operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will work closely with the Digital Operations team to help scale release output while maintaining high QA/QC standards across audio, metadata, and rights tooling.


This is an entry-level role suited to someone who is highly detail-oriented, systems-minded, and eager to build a career in music operations. You will gain hands-on experience across music distribution, platform operations, and rights management while supporting a fast-growing release schedule.


This position is a full-time and remote fixed-term contract opportunity through December 31, 2026, with the possibility of conversion to a full-time role contingent on business needs.


Responsibilities

Release & Asset Onboarding

  • Support onboarding of artists, clients, and assets into internal systems and workflows
  • Organize, validate, and prepare audio, video, and metadata deliverables for processing and distribution

Metadata & Systems Operations

  • Input, review, and verify metadata in Monstercat’s proprietary technology (Label Manager) with a high degree of accuracy
  • Onboard internal and external users to systems as required and assist with system-related support requests
  • Maintain strong QA/QC standards to prevent downstream issues across distribution, rights management, and royalties

Support & Operations Coordination

  • Monitor and respond to support inbox inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and timely follow-through
  • Assist with Asana project setup and ongoing maintenance for releases and operational initiatives

Platform Operations Support

  • Support the management of Monstercat’s YouTube and SoundCloud channels, including uploads and basic troubleshooting
  • Assist with platform tooling and rights operations as trained, including YouTube CMS & Content ID, Meta Rights Manager for Music (RM4M), and TikTok MediaMatch

Publishing Administration

  • Manage publishing administration responsibilities, including registration and maintenance of works via Kobalt and related publishing systems
  • Maintain operational accuracy of publishing metadata and ensure reporting, collection, and allocation readiness for publishing income streams
  • Support ongoing improvements to Monstercat’s publishing administration business model and reporting

Scale & Process Improvement

  • Support the Digital Operations Manager with day-to-day release execution tasks to increase distribution output
  • Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and process improvements as the team scales.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

  • Experience in a customer support, operations, or administrative role
  • Experience with music distribution and/or royalty platforms
  • Familiarity managing YouTube and/or SoundCloud channels
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Asana, Slack, and modern collaboration tools
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working in systems, spreadsheets, and structured workflows
  • YouTube CMS certifications is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
  • Interest in music distribution, rights management, and digital platforms
  • Flexibility and eagerness to learn

Pay Scale

  • $60,000 - $65,000 CAD per year
  • The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
