Job Summary
Create Music Group is seeking a self-driven & highly-motivated Digital Rights Intern to join our team. This internship will allow candidates to work closely with the department leads to support digital rights operations within the Youtube CMS, onboard sound recording assets, and help execute strategies that will drive higher revenue for our clients and companies.
This is an unpaid, part-time internship designed for current students receiving college credit. Interns must be eligible to work in the U.S. and available for 10–20 hours per week over a 3–4 month term.
Responsibilities
- Asset Ingestion & Onboarding: Assist in uploading and organizing YouTube assets into our CMS.
- Content Research & Claiming: Conduct research to identify user-generated content (UGC) using client assets.
- Apply fair use knowledge to place copyright claims and help maximize revenue for clients.
- Client Asset Organization: Help compile, list, and maintain detailed records of client assets in our ownership to keep accounts organized and up-to-date.
- CMS Conflict Support: Assist in resolving asset-level issues, such as ownership conflicts, disputes, appeals, and metadata corrections within the CMS.
- YouTube Publishing Research: Perform research to evaluate whether current or prospective clients are eligible for revenue generation through YouTube Publishing.
- Auditing & Analytics: Help analyze YouTube channels and asset data to identify unclaimed content, evaluate channel performance, and prepare reports for potential client opportunities.
- A&R Research: Collaborate with the A&R team by researching and identifying artists or potential clients that may benefit from our services.
- Copyright Strike Management: Assist in managing and resolving copyright strikes on client channels to prevent harm to our networks.
Qualifications
- Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student, and receive credit for this internship
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Passionate about music and is up to date with trends and new genres in the music industry
- Familiar with content formats within Youtube
- A creative thinker who’s not afraid to problem solve
- Works well in a team environment and can communicate effectively with peers
- Detail-oriented and organized when handling multiple tasks and projects
- Hungry to get their foot in the door of the music industry and learn a variety of skills within the music distribution and Youtube umbrella
- Must be interested in a serious career in music
Other desirable skills/experience:
- Have previous music industry internships or experience
- Have experience with MCN’s, CMS’s, and distribution platforms
- Are currently enrolled in a relevant educational program (Marketing, Audio Production, Music Business, etc.)
Program Details
- Start Date: Flexible based on academic calendar
