Job Summary
Create Music Group’s Legal and Business Affairs team is looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to join us on a dynamic assignment, lasting approximately four (4) months. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a fast-paced, innovative music company while contributing to meaningful projects alongside a collaborative legal team. The ideal candidate can start on or around July 14 and is highly organized, proactive, and eager to learn and grow. This role requires an individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of projects effectively. You must be comfortable operating standard office equipment, making fine visual distinctions when proofreading, and navigating digital systems and databases.
The Legal Assistant will play a critical role in document execution, contract management, and supporting legal operations across multiple departments. Law firm experience is preferred, and experience in the music industry is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Draft Letters of Direction, Termination Reports, and Amendments
- Collaborate with Project Managers to execute Letters of Direction and Termination Requests
- Complete due diligence reviews
- Draft and populate forms, letters, and agreements in the Customer Relationship Management System (CRM)
- Redline and summarize legal documents
- Coordinate deal points with A&R and request contracting information from artists, managers, and legal representatives
- Organize and manage deal terms, client information, and related documentation
- Track deal negotiations and maintain the legal request queue
- Close deals in the CRM and generate abstracts upon execution
- Manage the execution of agreements via Formstack
- Maintain and update legal templates and tools within the CRM
- Track cross-functional projects and communicate with internal departments
- Schedule meetings and manage the legal team’s calendar
- Monitor and respond to high-volume internal and external correspondence via the legal email inbox
- Review and track termination requests, takedown requests, clearances, and conflict issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a legal assistant
- Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft 365
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and eager to learn
- Strong proofreading, editing, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with legal assistant principles and attorney-client protocols
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF tools (e.g., redlining, redacting, formatting)
- Comfortable navigating CRM systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and digital correspondence
- Detail-Oriented & Organized: Accurately manage contracts, deadlines, and legal documents in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong Communicator: Clear, professional communication across internal teams, artists, and external partners.
- Adaptable & Proactive: Thrive amid shifting priorities and take initiative to solve problems before they escalate.

Pay Scale
