Product Owner - Integrations

CRIO (Clinical Research IO) is a health tech company helping pharma, biotech, research sites, and academic research centers streamline regulatory workflows with one system and a single source of clinical data capture. Our modules allow sites to capture data electronically in real-time, providing data managers and monitors with enhanced transparency, and enabling remote monitoring by sponsors and CROs.

CRIO’s eSource and CTMS system is a leading, modern, enterprise platform built for clinical research sites. Since CRIO’s launch in 2016, CRIO has established the leading brand position in eSource and has won close to 50% of the emerging class of enterprise-grade site networks, many of whom are backed by institutional investors such as VC, PE and corporations. CRIO has achieved the attached metrics, all with little to no serious outbound sales or marketing.

  • Backlog and Dependency Management: Prioritize and manage the backlog of integration user stories, API and single-sign on enhancements, and technical debt. Ensure clear documentation of dependencies across systems and that development work is achievable within the needed timeframe and aligned with technical feasibility.
  • Integration Project Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and document development activities for complex, high-visibility integration initiatives, adapting to evolving requirements and partner timelines.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate clear communication of feature progress, release milestones, and integration readiness to internal stakeholders and external partners. Ensure visibility into issues that may impact partner systems or shared data flows and drive a plan to secure business continuity through changes.Translate technical concepts and challenges to express business impact for executive stakeholders when needed.
  • Delivery and Quality Optimization: Evaluate integration activities for maximum business and operational value, balancing speed of delivery with long-term maintainability and scalability.
  • Stakeholder and Partner Relationships: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and technology partners to ensure alignment on integration goals, timelines, and mutual dependencies.
  • Team Leadership and Support: Empower scrum teams with clear integration goals and context, fostering collaboration across engineering, QA, and partner teams. Address blockers quickly to maintain development velocity.
  • Integration and Agile Excellence: Collaborate with development teams to commit well-defined integration stories to sprints. Lead retrospectives to identify improvements in delivery, coordination, and technical implementation processes.
  • Value and Compliance Advocacy: Champion the value of integrations as enablers of product growth and customer success. Ensure integration work adheres to security, compliance, and data integrity standards while maximizing stakeholder and end-user impact.
  • Integration Design: Lead discussions with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify the core value proposition of a new integration, identify essential requirements to deliver the core value, and translate these requirements for engineering to execute the work effectively.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of workflows and API specifications for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive roadmap planning with engineering and QA to ensure high priority features have a realistic estimated effort based on requirements and plan for engineering and QA capacity to ensure roadmap commitments can be delivered on time.
