Job Summary:  

The Sr. Director, Commercial Operations works cross-functionally to identify and implement best practices, methodologies and processes to achieve commercial and operational excellence. This role will be responsible for the operational build, development and maintenance of commercial systems, policies, training, and customer relations management (CRM) programs and be the glue to coordinate implementation and execution across the launch team to support the commercialization of Cristcot’s first launch.  This role goes beyond sales operations as the way the team works across all functions is critical to operate as ONE Team and show up to HCP offices in a coordinated manner.  This will include automation of weekly performance reports and insights. The role will also be responsible for field force incentive compensation, working closely with sales and market access leadership. Additionally, in partnership with IT, they will identify, develop and deploy enterprise functions and platform technology solutions to maximize operational effectiveness, patient level and performance data.  

 

Primary Relationships:

  • Within Cristcot, the Sr. Director of Commercial Operations will collaborate closely with all commercial functions, IT, Finance, Compliance, Legal and HR to build the team.
  • Outside Cristcot, the Sr. Director, Commercial Operations will build strategic relationships with third party vendors such as CRM providers and data aggregators.  

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The Sr. Director, Commercial Operations main accountability is to ensure that the process, systems and operations support well-coordinated implementation and execution across the commercial team.  The ability to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholders will be key.  In addition, commercial training will reside with this role.   Training, developing and helping each person on the team to grow is key to building the launch and our company.

 

The Activities of the Sr. Director, Commercial Operations will include, but a are not limited to:

  • Work closely across the commercial team to develop a cross functional plan to support the build, development and implementation of the systems, policies and processes to enable excellence in execution.
  • Build and implement the CRM program along with additional software and technology platforms supporting the commercial and medical teams with input from IT, Quality, Compliance and Finance.
  • Work with field team leaders to develop policies, procedures and implementation of field training, expenses and business plans.
  • Collaborate with compliance to ensure integrated policies are adhered to.
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve industry leading training and development for the launch team.
  • Develop and implement field team incentive compensation plans that align to the brand strategy and has the buy in from the field team and leadership, we need our IC plans to motivate and not distract.
  • Work with cross-functional team members to identify and prioritize actionable, high-impact insights across a variety of core business areas including Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Finance, Market Access, Patient Services and IT.
  • Support the strategic allocation of field force resources including programs, expenses and other investments to maximize ROI and evaluate the impact to determine where to focus future investments.
  • Research, design, implement, and validate cutting-edge dashboards to analyze diverse sources of data to achieve targeted outcomes for the field teams
  • Institute processes for data and reporting governance of ad-hoc field-based inquiries from the Executive Leadership Team and other Commercial functions.
  • Lead data inquiry and data stewardship efforts in support of field-based teams.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Commercial Operations, Business Intelligence, Data Management or Analytics.
  • Good verbal and written communication with solid organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Experience in UC products is desirable.
  • Past leadership experience in commercial function with strong personal leadership skills to drive performance and support corporate objectives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Creativity and resilience in problem solving.
  • Relentless hands-on drive to implement and accomplish performance goals.
  • Effective management of vendor partners to ensure project scope is achieved within defined budget.
  • Ability to independently research, design, and implement platform technology solutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
