Job Summary

The Associate Director of Market Access Analytics and Insights will be responsible for conducting data analytics and integrating with market research to provide insights into managed markets strategy development and execution. The Associate Director will conduct analyses using various sources of market access and payer data to inform strategic business decisions and tactical choices, such as contracting strategy, pricing strategy, copay strategy, operations, etc.  Moreover, the Associate Director will collaborate with cross-functional partners to leverage rigorous data analytics and market research to inform access decisions for Cristcot’s ulcerative colitis launch assets and follow-on lifecycle opportunities.  To be successful, the Associate Director needs to have a strong understanding of market access and payer dynamics, a willingness to execute all aspects of market access analytics and insights generation, facility in modeling various access and payer scenarios, and the ability to communicate cogent market access strategy recommendations to commercial leadership.

 

Primary Relationships

  • Within Cristcot, the Associate Director of Market Access Analytics and Insights will collaborate closely with cross functional teams, including Data Science, Market Research, Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, etc.
  • Outside Cristcot, the Associate Director of Market Access Analytics and Insights will engage with external agency partners, consultants, and advisors.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Market Access Analytics and Insights is an important role that will guide market access/payer strategy and planning decisions for Cristcot’s launch assets and lifecycle opportunities. By using market access/payer analytics, insights into managed markets, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving, the Associate Director will provide the guidance to the Market Access organization to optimize the access and uptake for Cristcot’s new product launch.  The Associate Director will leverage their knowledge of payers and managed markets to inform a winning market access strategy in a competitive environment that includes generic competitors.

 

The activities of the Associate Director of Market Access Analytics and Insights will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct insightful and actionable market access analytics and research projects to guide market access, payer, and pricing decisions.
  • Perform channel and account analytics using various data sources (i.e., claims data, Rx data, payer data) and communicate insights with recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (i.e., market access, marketing, finance, data science, market research, operations, sales) to develop market access key performance indicators and dashboards/scorecards to track brand performance and pull-through.
  • Communicate market access insights with recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, cogent, and actionable manner to inform market access business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for market access/payer analytics, reports, and other deliverables.
  • Stay current with the latest innovations in market access analytics and insights data sources, methodologies, and technologies to keep Cristcot at the forefront of market access excellence.
  • Partner with Data Science and Market Research to develop brand performance reports that track brand performance against market access goals and expectations.
  • Identify and implement market access analytics and insights best practices by monitoring the external market access analytics landscape for emerging trends, capabilities, and innovations.
  • Engage with cross-functional partners (Data Science, Market Research, Market Access, Marketing, Sales, and Finance) to prepare, report, present, and discuss market access insights.
  • Collaborate with market access agency partners to identify analogs, benchmarks, and best practices to optimize market access and payer strategy decisions.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred (master’s or Ph.D.), but no less than bachelor’s degree in data science, business, psychology, statistics, economics, mathematics, life sciences, or a related field that requires market access related skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech market access roles, either on the client side or consulting/research agency side.
  • 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry preferred.
  • Breadth and depth of knowledge in pharmaceutical market access and payer dynamics, channel dynamics, value and pricing, pharmacy and distribution models, product fulfillment, and patient affordability approaches.
  • Knowledge of and experience with pharmaceutical data sets (e.g., payer and formulary data, channel, sales and Rx data, pharmacy data, patient affordability and access data, claims and utilization data, real world evidence and outcomes data, competitive intelligence).
  • Knowledge of and experience with secondary data sources used by the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., FIA, MMIT, Fingertip Formulary, DRG, Symphony Health).
  • Proven skills in analyzing market access/payer data, turning information into actionable insights, and communicating with stakeholders to inspire business decision making.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and collaborating with market access agencies that service the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries.
  • Strong technical skills (i.e., market access modeling, scenario simulations, statistics) combined with broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with the commercialization of pharmaceutical products and launch experiences a plus.
  • Great team player that actively listens to stakeholders, enjoys collaborating with colleagues, and values different opinions and perspectives.
  • Agility and flexibility to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using MS Office tools (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
