Volunteer Board Member

Are you interested in and passionate about helping support women in their recovery process? Crossroads is looking for you! We are a leader in treating women and their families with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. 


Crossroads serves adult women in two residential treatment programs, a women’s sober living facility, and men and women in one outpatient facility, all located in southern Maine. 


All of Crossroads’ clinical programs are evidence based and incorporate a trauma informed focus to support each client in their recovery journey.

Who We’re Looking For

We strive for a skilled and engaged Board that reflects the communities we serve.
Ideal candidates are collaborative, mission-driven individuals who bring professional expertise, community insight, and a commitment to ethical leadership.

We are especially interested in individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

     Finance and Operations: financial management, reporting, and audits, budgeting and long-term financial planning, cash management, compliance and risk management, or healthcare revenue and billing.

     Fundraising and Development: donor cultivation, event participation, strategic fundraising planning, and advocacy on behalf of Crossroads within personal and professional networks.

     Clinical Expertise: behavioral health, addiction treatment, nursing, counseling, or related healthcare fields, with insight into evidence-based care and recovery support services.

Governance and Leadership Responsibilities

     Attend and actively participate in quarterly Board meetings (2 hours each; at least one in person annually).

     Serve on at least one committee or Board sub-committee (i.e. finance, fundraising etc.).

     Uphold fiduciary and ethical responsibilities, including signing an annual conflict of interest statement and making an annual personal contribution of $250 to demonstrate Board commitment.

     Participate in the selection and annual evaluation of the Chief Executive Officer.

Commitment

     Meetings: Quarterly via Teams (virtual); annual in-person strategic retreat meeting for 3 hours.

     Attendance: Attend at least two-thirds of the annual meetings.

     Term: Minimum three-year commitment, with a review for continuation after each term.
