Responsibilities: 

The role of a Principal Consultant in Microsoft Collaboration and Migration Specialist involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the effective implementation and management of collaboration tools and compliance solutions.  The Principal Consultant has technical ownership of the project success by ensuring team members understand the risks, impacts and interdependencies of project delivery tasks. 

  • Client-Facing Role: The Principal Consultant is responsible for delivering secured customized Exchange, migrations to Microsoft 365, and Purview solutions to meet specific organizational needs. This involves expertise of Microsoft 365 collaboration: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Purview. 
  • Architectural Vision: Lead workshops to define customer requirements and educate clients about new technologies 
  • Design and Development: The Principal consultant designs, develops, and deploy Microsoft 365 and custom solutions. They lead migration projects from 3rd party platforms, providers, or on-premises to Microsoft 365.

  • Google Workspace to Office 365 Migration: You will conduct comprehensive assessments of existing Google Workspace environments, develop detailed migration plans including timelines and resource allocation, execute the migration of email, documents, and collaboration tools to Office 365, and provide post-migration support and troubleshooting. 
  • Tenant-to-Tenant Migration: You will manage migrations resulting from mergers, acquisitions, and organizational changes, plan and execute tenant consolidation or separation strategies, ensure data integrity and security throughout the migration process, and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize business disruption. 
  • On-Premises to Microsoft 365 Migration: You will assess legacy systems, develop strategic migration plans, transition on-premises infrastructures to cloud-based Microsoft 365 solutions, enhance scalability, security, and performance of migrated systems, and provide ongoing support and optimization post-migration. 
  • Security and Compliance: The Principal consultant designs, configures and maintains Microsoft Purview to ensure data protection, risk management, and compliance across Microsoft 365 services 
  • Deploying, migrating and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 in enterprise tenants and environment; Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online using UI, PowerShell, PnP, Json, Graph API and Python 
  • Automate content mgmt. using SharePoint Online and Teams as well as create workflows and forms using Power Apps, Power Automate Flow and Power BI 
  • Deploying, migrating and troubleshooting Microsoft Purview in enterprise tenants and environment; Microsoft DLP, Data Retention, Information Protection, Insider Risk mgmt. Information Barrier and data classification  
  • Deploying, migrating and troubleshooting Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Microsoft Defender for Cloud App 
  • Deploying Privileged Identity Management (PIM) 
  • Deep knowledge of on-premise Exchange and SharePoint and migration using Quest, BitTitan and Sharegate 
  • Knowledge of other Microsoft and Azure solutions is a major asset, including Azure, Entra, Copilot, and Defender product. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. 
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure complete scope delivery and high client satisfaction.  Identify risk, help develop mitigations or educate the client so the Project Manager can collect a sign-off of acknowledgement 
  • Ability to work in client environments, and to work on multiple projects simultaneously, as required 
  • Provide post-cutover support to clients after every major change control 
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate stakeholders clients or our internal team on deployed Microsoft 365 and Purview solutions and capabilities 
  • Achieve 3 Microsoft certification per year. Maintain all Microsoft certifications attained, and build a roadmap to add more industry certifications as you grow with experience 
  • Maintain the CrucialLogics lab and be part of the setup, teardown and maintenance of cloud resources as projects come and go 
  • Work on initiatives both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. 
  • Excellent customer relations capabilities, coupled with the ability to interact with customers at all levels. 

Position Requirements:

  • University degree, college diploma or demonstrable experience in the field of Information Technology. 
  • Minimum 12+ years of direct work experience in deploying Exchange, Microsoft 365, Purview and Defender for Office 365 and Cloud App (Exchange Online, Teams collaboration and Telephony, SharePoint Online, Microsoft DLP, Microsoft Information Protection etc.…).  Ideal candidate must have direct experience in migrating Google to M365, Tenant-to-Tenant migrations, or other 3rd party migrations to Microsoft M365. 
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products. 
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. 
  • Customer service skills are required. 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial 
  • Be a positive role model and support peers who are developing their skillsets.  Develop training programs, mentor senior consultants, to upskill team members. 
  • Proactively blocks calendar for strategic planning, high-priority tasks, client meetings and presales 
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications like SC-100 MS-102, MS-203, MS-700, MS 721, AI-102, Az-305, SC-400 AZ-204 and PL-400, would be an advantage 

Work Conditions: 

  • Flexible working hours may be required to meet project deadlines 
  • Able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings 
  • Some travel may be required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
