About the role

We’re looking for a results-oriented Director of Electrical Construction who is as passionate about growing relationships and driving business as they are about delivering exceptional project outcomes. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead our Electrical Construction division with a strong emphasis on sales strategy, client engagement, and operational excellence. You’ll be the face of CS Erickson for new and existing construction clients—expanding our reach, elevating our brand, and ensuring high-quality execution across all projects.

What you'll do

  • Define and lead the overall vision and strategic direction for the Electrical Construction group, ensuring alignment with company goals and market opportunities.
  • Own full P&L responsibility for the department—driving financial performance, managing budgets, and ensuring sustained profitability.
  • Set annual goals, monitor key metrics, and implement initiatives that support growth, operational excellence, and long-term success.
  • Lead business development for the Electrical Construction division by identifying, pursuing, and securing new project opportunities.
  • Represent CS Erickson at networking events, client meetings, and industry functions to expand visibility and build strategic partnerships.
  • Foster long-term client relationships by providing a best-in-class customer experience from first conversation through project completion.
  • Collaborate with marketing to define and execute targeted growth strategies for key markets and customer segments.
  • Oversee project delivery and ensure operational excellence—providing strategic guidance, risk oversight, and project leadership as needed.
  • Support the estimating team by reviewing proposals, validating pricing strategies, and managing margin expectations based on industry benchmarks.
  • Ensure successful vendor relationships, procurement strategies, and subcontractor negotiations that support project and departmental goals.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of electrical contracting best practices, construction contracts, and safety/compliance standards.
  • Provide mentorship and development for project managers and field teams, cultivating leadership, accountability, and career growth.
  • Regularly report on key performance indicators, department goals, financial health, and pipeline performance to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (Electrical or Engineering background a plus).
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, with proven success in business development and team leadership.
  • Strong relationship builder with a consultative sales style and the ability to engage both field professionals and executive decision-makers.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Confident negotiator with fluency in construction contract terms and pricing strategies.
  • Strategic thinker who understands how to balance sales growth with operational and financial performance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software; experience with tools like Accubid, Bluebeam, Procore, or PlanGrid is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and construction safety regulations is a plus.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35lbs
