About the role


The Technology Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique needs and recommending technology solutions that align with their goals. This includes Audio-Visual (AV) systems, structured cabling/low-voltage infrastructure, and a wide range of integrated technology solutions—from conference rooms to large event spaces to complex manufacturing environments.

This role is responsible for building new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and guiding projects from concept to completion.



What you'll do

  • Maintain a minimum book of business of $2.5M annually.
  • Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their requirements, objectives, and budget constraints.
  • Perform needs assessments, including reviewing existing AV, cabling, and infrastructure setups and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide expert recommendations AV systems, structured cabling solutions, and integrated technology designs tailored to client needs.
  • Create comprehensive proposals, including cost estimates, equipment lists, and timelines for the implementation phase.
  • Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to coordinate resources and ensure smooth project implementation.
  • Troubleshoot any issues or challenges that arise during the project and find effective solutions.
  • Stay informed on new technologies and evolving industry practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a Technology Consultant or in a related role, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with clients, team members, and vendors.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years related experience in a technology sales role
  • Customer service mindset
  • Energetic, self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills
  • Certifications in CTS, CTSD, CTS-I, RCDD, BICSI Tech or Industrial Controls
