About the position:

The Workshop Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring all jewellery, produced locally and offshore, meets defined quality specifications and production standards. The role leads the workshop quality assurance systems, oversees training, and drives process, product, and safety improvements. Key member of the workshop leadership team.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with cross-functional departments to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, ethically crafted jewellery across all production locations. 
  • Act as the technical lead for quality control, supporting the team in developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and systems that uphold the quality of Cullen products.
  • Regularly update and issue detailed product specifications to guide consistency and excellence in production.
  • Oversee the quality of work produced in offshore factories, ensuring it aligns with Cullen’s brand expectations and quality standards. 
  • Collaborate with offshore partners to provide feedback on production quality and initiate improvements where necessary. Deliver training and resolve quality issues on-site as required.
  • Partner with the quality control team to assess finished pieces, identify areas for refinement, and support quality uplift across the workshop.
  • Ensure correct work methods are followed by all jewellers, promoting high standards of craftsmanship and precision.
  • Improve the consistency of teaching and training within the workshop, standardising skills and methods across the team.
  • Provide hands-on training and mentorship to trainees and junior jewellers, embedding best practices and setting clear quality expectations. Lead the trainee jeweller program.
  • Regularly report to the Workshop Manager on workshop performance, staff development, and any quality-related issues.
  • Conduct frequent check-ins with the quality control (QC) team to assess areas that need improvement and develop training initiatives tailored to address specific needs.
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise to help QC identify what they should be expecting from each jeweller during quality assessments.
  • Assist in developing training programs and materials that support the ongoing development of jewellers in the workshop and offshore

What are we seeking?

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in jewellery making, with a strong background in advanced techniques and craftsmanship.
  • Demonstrated success in managing product quality across both local and offshore production environments. 
  • Strong technical understanding of fine jewellery manufacturing processes, quality standards,  and corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff, with strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in providing constructive feedback and guiding the technical development of team members.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement structured training and quality assurance programs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively coordinate between the workshop team, offshore factories, QC, and management.
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining and enforcing quality standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, ensuring timely delivery of projects while maintaining high standards.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing or workshop setting.
  • The right to work in Australia.
