About the position:

A rare opportunity is now available for a Trainee Jeweller to join our rapidly growing company in our Melbourne workshop.

We are experiencing consistent growth and as we open our new workshop space, we are looking for a number of talented individuals to join our team and learn the craft of jewellery making. You may have recently finished your jewellery studies and are trying to get a start in the industry; you may have been working in a home workshop and want to move into a formalised setting; or you may be wanting to start your career as a jeweller altogether and think you have what it takes to learn this wonderful craft!

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support workshop operations by learning core skills like polishing, repairs, resizing, and cast cleaning through hands-on practice and feedback.
  • Assist with daily tasks, maintain a clean workspace, and shadow senior jewellers to gain experience.
  • Follow safety protocols, contribute to quality control discussions, and uphold craftsmanship standards.
  • Manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and show initiative and enthusiasm for continuous learning.

What are we seeking?

  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in jewellery, with a clear intention to pursue a career as a jeweller.
  • Ability to perform meticulous work for extended periods using a microscope, along with highly refined fine motor skills to ensure precision and accuracy in every task.
  • Proven practical skills in working with tools, not necessarily specific to jewellery, demonstrating manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new practical skills quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and processes.

What we offer:

In addition to a competitive remuneration package, and the ability to work in a beautiful office location in the heart of Kew, we offer all our team members with a range of benefits including:

  • A supportive and collaborative work environment;
  • An Employee Assistance Program for you and a family member to utilise;
  • Generous staff and family / friend discounts;
  • Team events and initiatives included as part of our wellbeing program;
  • Paid volunteer leave, and sponsorship of a child in South East Asia/Africa under your name;
  • The opportunity to join a growing company with a global presence - you really can take your career anywhere!
