Position Overview:
 
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for executing the delivery, installation, and service of office furniture systems. This role will effectively oversee and lead a crew of installers at customer locations to ensure operational activities are executed in an efficient and effective manner. This will include ensuring the installation team maintains a professional appearance and provides a high level of customer service. This is a full-time position in our Fort Wayne, Indiana location.
 
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Manage the installation crew providing clear direction with expected deliverables.
  • Install and supervise the installation of furniture products adhering to manufacturer guidelines. The installation process includes loading, unloading, staging, assembly, cleanup, and detailing product to meet operational excellence.
  • Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of product.
  • Coordinate the schedules and assignments for installation teams.
  • Execute all phases of delivery, service orders, installations, or projects as directed.
  • Work under the direction of the Operations Management team.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with the Operations Management team,
  • installation crew, internals teams and foremost the customer. 
  • Maintain effective communication with installers, various contractors, and the customer.
  • Complete all required documentation with accuracy within required timeframes including but not limited to delivery tickets, punch lists, and time sheets.
  • Communicate with the crew to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate project status to internal and external customers on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain a safe driving environment while operating company vehicles.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, and equipment. 
  • Maintain professionalism in customer interactions.
  • Ensure crew follows company protocols for disposal of refuse, pallets, and recyclables.
  • Provide active continuous improvement on the installation processes to management.
  • Attain thorough knowledge of Hedberg Mobile applications software.
  • Provide on-the-job training to employees and subcontractors as required.
  • Expand knowledge of furniture products and installation procedures
 Specific Qualifications
  • Maintain a valid drivers license, clean driving record and willingness to obtain a chauffers' license
  • Good physical condition with the physical ability to lift up to 50 lb., hoist and safely position product overhead and repetitive squatting, bending, and lifting to perform connection of components under work surfaces.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service mentality.
  • Ability to read construction blueprints and installation drawings. Attention to detail required.
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve in a fast paced, client-driven environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work with and effectively supervise a diverse workforce.
  • Working installation knowledge of all Steelcase furniture products preferred.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude and vision for assembling office furniture.
  • Ability to meet and maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend work as determined by business needs.
 
Education/Experience
  •  High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the installation of office furniture products preferred.
