The Commercial Flooring Estimator (Flooring) is responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure precise pricing and resource allocation for flooring projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of flooring materials, installation methods, and estimating tools. The Estimator collaborates with internal teams—including sales, project management, and procurement—to align project scope, pricing, and execution strategies.

Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate cost records, conducting site assessments, and monitoring market trends to ensure competitive and precise cost evaluations for commercial projects.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Estimator (Flooring) contributes to the growth and success of Custer by achieving the following objectives:

·         Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and site conditions to generate accurate cost estimates for flooring installations

·         Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, and project management to align project scope and cost evaluations

·         Utilize company estimating software and tools to maintain efficiency and accuracy in cost projections

·         Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project conditions and verify measurements.

·         Monitor market trends, material costs, and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitive and precise estimates

·         Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and historical cost data for reporting and future reference

·         Provide support to project teams throughout execution to ensure adherence to budget and scope

·         Assist team with other duties, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Extensive knowledge of flooring materials (e.g., hardwood, tile, carpet, vinyl) and installation techniques

·         Proficiency in estimating software (such as Measure Square, RFMS, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite

·         Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail

·         Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents accurately

·         Effective communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders

·         Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / OTHER REQUIREMENTS

·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

·         Proven experience in Construction or Flooring industry, 1-2 years required

·         Experience with ERP software, RFMS preferred

·         Must have reliable transportation

·         Must have valid driver’s license
