 POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Manager & Operations Supervisor is a critical hybrid role, responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Custer-Fort Wayne (CFW) installation team. This position combines strategic project management with hands-on operational supervision to ensure seamless execution and installation of projects and alignment with company objectives.

The responsibility of the Operations Supervisor aspect of this position requires leading and managing the installation team by providing clear direction, motivation, and support. Key areas of focus include safety compliance, quality assurance, exceptional customer service, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

The responsibility of the Project Manager aspect of this position requires overseeing multiple projects of varying size and scope, specifically related to systems furniture installation. Additional responsibilities include managing human and material resources throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with scope, quality, timeline, budget, and customer satisfaction. This role will require independent and collaborative work, coordinating all project aspects and serving as the primary liaison between the dealer and the customer. Key areas of focus include maintaining accuracy, monitoring project performance, and ensuring successful completion of projects while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. KEY RESPONSIBILITES

The Operations Supervisor/Project Management contributes to the growth and success of Custer by achieving the following objectives:

 Project Manager

  • Manage projects of varying size and scope, ensuring alignment with all phases of the project management process
  • Define project scope, structure, and objectives to achieve desired outcomes efficiently
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal and external team members ensuring clear, effective communication that assists with correct action plan when necessary
  • Establish and refine standard procedures to manage recurring project events effectively
  • Define success criteria based on customer satisfaction, on-time and within-budget delivery, and dealership profitability
  • Lead customer meetings, build strong client relationships, and negotiate solutions when needed
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to mitigate delays and enhance project execution
  •    Conduct site visits to evaluate readiness, identify potential issues, and provide alternative solutions when needed
  •   Participate in pre-install meetings, providing insights and recommendations to optimize project execution·         Provide timely updates on order status, including product shipments, installation schedules, and punch list progress while resolving any order-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Establish, maintain and deliver accurate and up-to-date project documentation
  • Develop, direct, and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion while coordinating various activities, services, and trades
  •    Analyze and interpret customer feedback while developing actionable solutions
  • Initiate and track change orders while also maintaining punch lists
  • Work independently while guiding and motivating team members to meet project goals
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, setting goals and priorities to optimize productivity
  • Uphold high standards of conduct, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills, including the preparation of clear and grammatically correct documents

Operations Supervisor

  • Plan and lead quarterly installer meetings to communicate updates, expectations, and best practices
  • Oversee and enforce the company’s safety program, ensuring adherence to all protocols and regulations
  • Verify installers’ timely completion of required installation documentation including Procore entries, punch lists, and delivery tickets.
  • Assess installer performance through mentoring, progressive discipline, and recognition initiatives.
  • Act promptly to resolve installer concerns, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  •   Assist in developing and implementing structured training schedules for installer development
  • Prepare and oversee labor estimates for installation projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain availability and readiness of tools and equipment necessary for successful installations
  •   Manage departments and individual performance, tracking KPIs, action items, and strategic priorities
