About the role

D-Wave is seeking an experienced Manager, Supply Chain to join our Hardware Engineering and Production Team.  In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain operations including, procurement, planning, sourcing, shipping and receiving, and inventory management, while driving continuous improvement across systems and processes. This position works closely with Production, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Sales, and Lab Operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on strong operational execution. 


What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain Supply Chain standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and compliance 
  • Lead, mentor and support Supply Chain staff (Buyers, Shipping and Receiving, and Material Planners) 
  • Develop and oversee strategic supply chain initiatives, including supplier risk management, long-term sourcing strategies, capacity planning, and supplier qualification and audit processes 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance 
  • Monitor supplier performance using defined KPIs and drive corrective action when needed 
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with supplies, fabricators, and logistics partners 
  • Partner with Legal to review contract terms and manage NDAs 
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure adherence to purchasing and accounting policies 
  • Support domestic and international logistics, including documentation and onboarding of international brokers 
  • Develop and implement inventory optimization and reduction strategies 
  • Lead ERP/MRP enhancements and support implementation of new features and processes 
  • Manage annual physical inventory count and investigate discrepancies 
  • Conduct project cost analysis upon request and lead mitigation projects for long lead and high-risk components 
  • Work with Engineering and Project Leaders to develop demand forecasts and material requirements 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field or the equivalent experience 
  • 8+ years of experience in procurements, inventory management, logistics, or supply chain operations 
  • Strong understanding of MRP, ERP, and Multi-Level Bill of Materials (BOM) structures 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and partners 
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to make informed decisions with limited data and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience with international import/export regulations and EHS requirements for material handling 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Fiix, NetSuite and Fusion Lifecycle is an asset 
  • Experience with Kanban system and FIFO inventory management  
  • Basic technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical components  
  • Experience developing supplier KPIs and performance management systems 

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods  
  • Ability to facilitate technical discussions between engineering teams and suppliers 
  • Willingness to travel to local vendor sites as needed
