About the role

D-Wave is seeking an experienced Manager, Electrical Production to join our Hardware Engineering and Production Team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and scaling the Electrical Production team, aligning people, processes, and systems to short and long-term business objectives, while ensuring strong execution and continuous improvement. You will own end-to-end electrical production execution including team leadership, scheduling, resource optimization, quality and continuous improvement. This role works closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Lab Operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on strong operational execution.


What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain Production standard operating procedures to improve efficiency, quality and compliance 
  • Lead, mentor and support Production staff, delivery training and provide guidance to maintain exceptional work standards 
  • Coordinate with planners to make sure production schedule meets delivery commitments and capacity plans 
  • Proficient in working with electronic and electrical components while understanding their parameters 
  • Improve production process by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Manage production budgets, cost analysis, track KPIs, and prepare performance reports for reviews 
  • Support ECO implementation, annual physical inventory count and discrepancy investigation 
  • Partner cross-functionally on production strategy, capacity planning, inventory optimization, and large-scale operational initiatives  
  • Support ERP/MRP on-going improvement and implementation of new features and processes  
  • Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe and compliant working environment; regularly inspect equipment to ensure they are in good working conditions 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field or the equivalent experience  
  • 8+ years of electrical production experience, including 4+ years in a people leadership role  
  • Strong understanding of MRP, ERP, and Multi-Level Bill of Materials (BOM) production planning 
  • Experience managing and developing production teams with accountability for performance outcomes 
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement practices 
  • Good understanding of schematics and SolidWorks drawings 
  • Strong understanding of soldering equipment, skills and processes 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build effective relationships with internal customers  
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to make informed decisions with limited data and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment  
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with NetSuite and Fusion Lifecycle is an asset 
  • Experience with Kanban system and FIFO inventory management  
  • Experience with surface-mount technology (SMT) on printed circuit board (PCB) population processes 

Additional Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods  
  • Ability to facilitate technical discussions between engineering teams and production staff 
  • Willingness to travel to local vendor sites as needed

132,880 - 199,320 CAD per year (Burnaby)
