About the role


The Vice President of D-Wave US Government Business Solutions is a senior leadership role focused exclusively on driving the strategic direction, growth, and operational excellence of the company's business solutions tailored for US government clients. This position requires a strong understanding of US government operations, procurement processes, and the ability to drive innovative solutions that meet the unique needs of US government agencies, including those requiring top-secret clearance. Success metrics may include federal pipeline growth, time to FedRAMP authorization, or number of agency wins.

 

Furthermore, the Vice President of D-Wave US Government Business Solutions will work hand in hand with functional leaders (CISO, CRO, CDO, etc.) to drive the establishment of a robust and distinct organizational structure to support the successful and efficient delivery of projects through dedicated US Government specialized teams.


What you'll do


Strategic Leadership: develop and implement the overall strategy for a US government business structure aligned to the company's vision and growth goals. Includes the design of an organizational structure with roles and responsibilities clearly defined to maintain compliance and operational integrity with FOCI or other relevant and applicable requirements. Participate and present to Board of Director meetings as required.

Client Relationship Management: proactively engage, build, and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders, including those in agencies such as the Department of Defense as well as government subcontractors and partners, such as Davidson Technologies.

Sector Analysis: conduct sector research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the government sector, and recommend adjustments to strategies accordingly.

Product Development: drive application development solutions for government business and manage the 24x7 systems and support services critical to the ongoing and successful delivery of D-Wave’s US government business solutions. Integrate with core technology and influence product roadmap by providing input to core product decisions which may affect US government clients.

Sales and Business Development: drive the sales strategy and go to market for US government clients, includes identifying and qualifying sales opportunities for new/existing business within the US government sector, through to bid proposals and contract negotiations. Maintain updated sales forecasts and report on agreed upon KPIs. Manage all pre-sales and post-sales efforts, ensuring efficient alignment across all activities. Define requirements for demand generation, marketing materials, sales enablement and sales compensation.  

Team Leadership and Training: manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance. Implement training programs on federal contracting regulations, compliance, and best practices.

Compliance and Risk Management: in close partnership with the Chief Information Security Officer and the Chief Legal Officer, ensure all US Government solutions comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and manage risks associated with US Government contracts. This includes FedRamp and other standards to security assessments for cloud service offerings.

Security Clearance Management: oversee the processes for obtaining and maintaining top-secret clearances for personnel, ensuring compliance with federal security regulations.


About You


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or management within the US government sector, with a proven track record of success in preparing companies for federal contracting, particularly in projects requiring top-secret clearance.
  • US top secret clearance required.
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements, including FOCI and security clearance/assessment protocols.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing, AI/ML, or high-performance computing 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically and inspire others to achieve common goals.
  • Comfortable navigating a complex and changing environment, with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong team player who values diverse perspectives and fosters a culture of inclusivity.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
