About the role

We are seeking a talented Senior Application Developer to join our Professional Services team. In this role you will focus on delivering applications for our customers while building upon successful projects to develop industry-leading applications running on D-Wave’s advanced quantum systems.

This position will give you the opportunity to learn about D-Wave’s application environment and work with internal teams and customers to build applications for market launch. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading customers and cutting-edge quantum computing technology.

What you'll do

  • Develop algorithms to solve complex problems while building applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools in Python.
  • Implement and optimize the performance of quantum applications using programming languages, such as Python, and/or applicable optimization tools 
  • Build out open-source applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release     
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects to achieve positive business value for customers 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and other team members to understand application requirements and design customized solutions 
  • Become an expert on a variety of our professional services offerings such as our cloud service (LEAP) and open-sourced software tools (Ocean) 
  • Help to solve real world, challenging problems that have a direct impact on our customers business success 

About You

  • 5+ years professional experience with Python. Knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx preferred.
  • Masters, PhD, or equivalent in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related technical field preferred 
  • Experience working directly with customers to identify requirements and consult on solutions to complex business problems  
  • Strong knowledge of probability, statistics and/or math 
  • Experience with a version control software such as Git     
  • Experience implementing complex algorithms     
  • Experience using leading optimization tools (e.g., CPlex or Gurobi) to solve optimization problems 
  • Experience building open-source applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release     
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and demonstrated creativity in approaching new problems     
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills     
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about writing state-of-the-artcode

The pay range for this role is:

86,000 - 129,000 EUR per year (Remote)

72,000 - 108,000 GBP per year (Remote)
