The Daily Journal Corporation (“Daily Journal’) publishes 10 newspapers in California and Arizona. In addition to producing high quality editorial for its legal and business publications, the Daily Journal also operates an in-house Media Buying Agency for legal advertising for government agencies required to publish public notices in qualified newspapers in their city, county or service areas. We offer this clearinghouse service statewide and place advertising in our own newspapers and in any appropriate newspaper including large daily, community and ethnic publications and on radio and other media as need.
The Ad Placement Coordinator is the primary contact for existing government agency customers ready to place legal notice advertising in qualified newspaper(s). The Ad Coordinator will communicate with the advertiser via email or telephone to receive publishing instructions. Through prompt, courteous and accurate customer service, the Ad Coordinator assures long-term business relationships with our customers and can generate referrals for additional business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
· Ad Placement Coordinator Supervisor trains and supports the Ad Coordinator with the guidance and support of the Director of the company’s Government Advertising Division.
· The Ad Coordinator will use proprietary software, AdTech, to generate Insertion Orders for the newspapers in accordance with the customer’s publishing instructions
·. . The Ad Coordinator is trained in common legal notice publishing criteria and advises the advertiser on the qualified newspaper to use, deadlines and other advertising criteria.
·. The Ad Coordinator will provide advanced price quotes to the advertiser for the advertising they wish to publish.
·. . The Ad Coordinator will also work with the in-house Graphic Artist to provide artwork requests according to the customers’ request and the newspapers’ requirements.
· The Ad Coordinator will work in tandem with the Account Manager to assure the customer’s service needs are communicated and met.
· The Ad Coordinator will document, file and maintain business records electronically of all advertising requests and communications with customers, newspapers and other pertinent sources.
Requirements:
· 2 years previous professional services experience
· Proven experience as a newspaper advertising salesclerk or within a similar environment.
· . Experience with MS Office software and Internet search services.
· Top-notch oral, written, and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with newspaper advertising sales
· Experience with customer service via email, telephone or other software tools
