We’re looking for an Associate Director of Paid Media (Amazon) that will be responsible for managing Amazon and retail media advertising campaigns. This role involves overseeing paid media strategies across Amazon's robust advertising ecosystem and other retail media networks. You will lead Client advertising strategy and execution across our entire book of marketplace business. This will include a player-coach type role wherein you will be managing accounts directly, managing a team of paid media specialists, and assisting our business development team in advertising pitches. You will play a crucial role in maintaining client relationships, overseeing marketplace ad strategies, and ensuring the achievement of client KPIs on platforms like Amazon, Walmart, and more.
You must have a background in both Amazon PPC, Amazon DSP, and Walmart Connect to apply for this role. This position reports to the Marketplaces department head.
This is a remote job, and can be based within the state(s) of Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, and must have the right to work within the United States.
What you'll do
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary advertising point of contact for all clients, fostering strong relationships, understanding their needs, and aligning our strategies to help achieve their business goals. This will include
- Set clear GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) targets, ACOS (Advertising Cost of Sale) goals, ad budgets, and campaign strategies for clients5
- Track performance against established targets
- Propose, develop, and execute brand promotional strategies, including:
- Paid advertising
- Promotions
- Coupons
- Pricing
- Creative elements
- Strategic Marketplace Leadership: Develop and execute end-to-end marketplace strategies, including ACOS/TACOS and ROAS goal setting, promotional planning, competitive analysis, and continued optimization.
- Performance Analysis and Optimization: Analyze marketplace data to assess performance metrics, competitor identify trends, and drive data-driven adjustments to optimize campaigns.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Brand Managers, Brand Associates, and Creative, to ensure cohesive marketplace strategies and leverage resources effectively.
- Revenue Growth: Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within accounts, contributing to company revenue growth goals.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor and lead junior advertising account manager and other team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in paid media management or similar specialization within the Amazon ecosystem. Plus for additional retail media exposure as it related to Walmart and other online marketplaces.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Expertise: Proven experience managing large client accounts in e-commerce or digital marketing, with a track record of delivering positive client outcomes. Agency experience is a major plus.
- Skills: Strong understanding of marketplace algorithms, digital advertising strategies, data analysis, and KPI management.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies and build rapport with clients.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills Proficient in data analysis, with a knack for identifying insights and making data-driven decisions.
- Fast Paced: Ability to manage multiple client accounts, work in a fast-paced environment with the best brands in consumer.
