Job Summary:


The Tax & Accounting Manager plays a critical leadership role, overseeing financial reporting, tax compliance, and division operations while guiding a team toward excellence. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain strict regulatory compliance. As a proactive communicator, the manager fosters transparency and collaboration across departments. They lead with empathy and accountability, motivating team members to achieve both professional goals and key performance indicators. This individual is adept at navigating interpersonal dynamics and resolving issues with fairness and integrity, creating a positive and productive team environment.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular check-ins with staff to set goals, monitor workload, identify training needs, and celebrate achievements.
  • Coordinate and oversee staff training and continuing education to support professional development.
  • Evaluate and document internal processes, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Manage and update client engagements, ensuring timely communication and accurate documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients to support satisfaction and retention.
  • Lead recruitment and hiring efforts for accounting staff, manage time-off requests, and provide constructive performance feedback.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to lead teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and a variety of accounting software platforms.

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in accounting and tax preparation.
  • Active CPA license required; Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is a plus.
  • Prior experience in team leadership or supervisory roles is preferred.
  • Experience with UltraTax software is highly desirable

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel Requirements:

  • Maximum interstate travel once per quarter.

As a full-time team member of the firm, you will be eligible to participate in several firm sponsored benefits. In addition, you will be entitled to accrue paid time off - starting at 120 hours each calendar year.


We also close our office for 7 holidays, and have a floating holiday available for use as well.
