Description Summary:
The Senior Data Center Security Specialist will lead initiatives to design, review, implement, and maintain robust security measures across our data center sites and campuses. This role encompasses comprehensive security responsibilities, including perimeter defense, physical and electronic monitoring, and surveillance.
The ideal candidates will bring experience from data center or high-security environments,
and a strong foundation in both physical and cybersecurity measures.
Essential Duties:
· Site Design and Review:
o Lead the design and security review process for new and existing data center sites, ensuring that security is integrated into every stage of development.
o Build and manage Basis of Design (BoD) documents to guide security standards and specifications across all site designs, ensuring consistency and alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.
o Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies for enhanced physical and cybersecurity.
· Perimeter Defense:
o Design, implement, and oversee advanced perimeter defense strategies, incorporating access control systems, barriers, fencing, and surveillance to prevent unauthorized access.
· Monitoring and Surveillance:
o Manage and oversee physical and electronic monitoring systems, including CCTV, intrusion detection, and Genetec video surveillance platforms.
o Regularly analyze surveillance footage and incident reports to proactively identify and address security risks.
· Site and Corporate Oversight:
o Provide expert oversight for security practices at individual sites, campus environments, and corporate offices as needed.
o Collaborate with on-site security teams and data center operations teams to ensure consistent and effective security measures across all locations.
o Maintain compliance with government security regulations and stay informed of evolving security threats.
· Cybersecurity Collaboration:
o Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure a cohesive approach between physical and cyber security protocols.
o Contribute to vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and incident response planning to safeguard critical data center assets.
