Department: Finance Administration | Reports to: Financial Controller
Typical schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time

What you will do

Coordinate recurring billing for residential, supported living, community, in-home, employment, and behavior support services using eXPRS, Therap, Excel, and approved records.

Check that claims and invoices match verified services, current authorizations, and approved rates before submission.

Investigate rejected, suspended, denied, and unpaid claims. Identify missing billing, payment differences, and potential duplicates, and document follow-up.

Maintain authorization details, billing registers, reconciliations, and a shared calendar so Finance and service leaders can see what is complete and what needs attention.

Partner with service leaders to obtain reviewed documentation and resolve billing barriers. Escalate issues requiring approval to the Financial Controller.

Improve approved billing workflows, document procedures, test system changes, and maintain data for financial and operational reporting.

What you bring

We are looking for demonstrated skills in the areas below. Relevant examples may come from employment, education, volunteering, or other transferable experience.

Accuracy when reviewing records, entering data, and matching information across spreadsheets or systems.

Ability to organize recurring deadlines, track unresolved items, and follow through with colleagues.

Practical problem-solving skills and the judgment to ask questions or escalate when records do not support a claim.

Clear, respectful communication and care with confidential information.

Comfort learning software and using spreadsheets to organize, compare, and review data.

Experience and support

Experience with billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, reconciliations, eXPRS, Therap, or disability services is helpful. ALSO provides training in its systems and service-specific procedures.

How we work

This position contributes through collaboration and does not supervise advocates. You will work within approved procedures while taking ownership of billing follow-through and suggesting practical improvements. Service leaders verify services and documentation; the Financial Controller approves write-offs, nonstandard adjustments, accounting treatment, and major process changes.

Both office and remote participation are expected. Your supervisor will establish the combination of office and home workdays based on responsibilities and collaboration needs. Recurring deadlines may require agreed schedule adjustments. A home workspace must support assigned tasks and protect confidential information.

Accessibility and belonging

Work includes regular computer use, digital records, spreadsheets, and collaboration by email, messaging, phone, and meetings. Tasks may be performed seated, standing, or with an adapted workstation. Essential functions may be performed with reasonable accommodation.

Supports may include written procedures, checklists, clear priorities, focused work time, and other arrangements based on individual needs. Accessibility supports can be discussed with the supervisor and Advocate Relations. ALSO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
