Position Summary

Bridge Schools is seeking a passionate and student-centered 6–12 English Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a dynamic virtual learning environment. This role supports students' academic achievement, personal growth, and social-emotional development while fostering meaningful connections with students and families.

The ideal candidate is comfortable leveraging technology, creating interactive online learning experiences, and adapting instruction to meet diverse student needs. This position requires strong communication, organization, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive virtual classroom where every student can thrive.

What You'll Do

• Deliver daily asynchronous instruction and weekly or as-needed synchronous lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
• Create an engaging, structured, and inclusive virtual classroom that encourages student participation, accountability, and academic growth.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, adjusting instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Grade assignments within one business day of submission and provide timely, meaningful feedback that supports student achievement.
• Maintain consistent communication with students and families through email, messaging, phone, and learning management systems.
• Create daily announcements, facilitate discussion boards, and implement strategies to promote student engagement.
• Monitor personalized learning plans, identify academic or behavioral concerns, and provide targeted interventions as needed.
• Document student progress and communicate concerns to school leadership when appropriate.
• Support academic integrity and maintain high instructional standards.
• Participate in professional development, departmental meetings, school assessments, and required training.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and instructional leaders to continuously improve student outcomes.
• Maintain flexibility to support students across multiple time zones and accommodate evolving instructional needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
• Valid teaching certificate for grades 6–12 or willingness to obtain one.
• IVP Level 1 fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) at the time of employment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual learning platforms such as Canvas and Zoom.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain a professional and supportive tone.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Comfort integrating technology into instruction and developing engaging, student-centered virtual lessons.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement and data-driven instruction.
• Cultural awareness and the ability to support students from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching in an online or blended learning environment.
• A Highly Effective teacher rating in the applicable subject area.

Work Environment

• Location: Fully remote.
• Schedule: Flexible, with availability to support students across various time zones.
• Environment: Virtual, with a standard home office setup.
• Collaboration: Work alongside a remote team of educators, administrators, and school leaders in an international learning environment.
