Position Summary

This is a full-time role for a Principal Consultant, Oracle EPM Financial Consolidation and Close (FCC). The Principal Consultant is responsible for leading the implementation and support of Oracle Enterprise Performance Management FCC, Account Reconciliation (ARCS), and Narrative Reporting solutions. Day to day tasks include leading and mentoring a team of consultants, conducting needs assessments, designing and configuring systems, providing end user training, and offering ongoing support to ensure the success of implementation projects.

The Principal Consultant works closely with clients to understand their business requirements and tailor solutions to meet those needs effectively, and is expected to operate with minimal oversight while leading solution design for assigned engagements.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead and design Oracle EPM Consolidation and Close projects, including FCC, ARCS, and Narrative Reporting
• Build leading practice solutions, including rules, Narrative Reports, and data integrations
• Conduct client needs assessments and translate business requirements into system design
• Configure and test EPM applications to meet client specifications
• Deliver end user training and provide ongoing post-implementation support
• Apply strong functional accounting knowledge to inform solution design
• Lead and mentor a team of consultants on assigned projects
• Lead client discussions to gather and validate business requirements
• Present solution designs and recommendations to client stakeholders with clarity and confidence
• Communicate moderate to complex functional and technical issues to Delivery leadership on a timely basis
• Effectively manage client relationships during complex system implementations
• Tailor solutions to each client's business requirements and industry context
• Assist sales by contributing to scoping, estimating, and solution discussions
• Act as a point of escalation for client concerns raised during implementation
• Ensure accuracy and quality of all deliverables, configurations, and documentation
• Maintain accurate and up to date project and client data
• Maintain and pursue relevant Oracle EPM certifications
• Be a valued contributor on ad-hoc projects and firm initiatives
• Must be willing to travel and work in various business locations or remotely as applicable
• All other duties as assigned

Position Outcomes/Objectives and Standards of Performance

1.Ensures Oracle EPM FCC solutions are developed and implemented successfully.

Application implementation for all assigned projects is completed on schedule and meets the agreed upon expectations as outlined to the client. Solution development results in streamlined financial consolidation, reconciliation, and reporting processes, as confirmed by client feedback.

2.Leads resolution of complex functional and technical issues during and after implementation.

Implementation and post-implementation support is provided on complex problems to resolve client concerns in a timely manner. Issues beyond project scope are properly escalated to Delivery leadership, and the agreed solution is effectively coordinated through development, build, and test.

3.Effectively manages relationships with clients during complex system implementations.

Feedback from clients indicates overall satisfaction with communication and delivery. Escalated issues are dealt with in a timely and effective manner. Support is provided both virtually and on-site as required.

4.Leads and mentors project team members.

Provides guidance and oversight to consultants on assigned projects, acts as a resource for less experienced team members, and contributes to their development.

5.Demonstrates behaviors aligned with the organization's values.

Feedback from leadership, team members, and clients confirms that the individual consistently demonstrates actions aligned with Ascend's values.

6.Commits to ongoing professional development.

Maintains and expands relevant Oracle EPM FCC certifications and stays current on product and industry developments.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• No less than 7 years of experience leading and implementing solutions for a variety of clients across a variety of industries
• 5 to 8 full lifecycle Oracle EPM implementations completed, including 3 to 6 led in a lead consultant capacity
• Oracle EPM certification required, including Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud; 2 or more Oracle EPM certifications is the typical guidance, with ARCS or Narrative Reporting Cloud preferred as a second
• High level of experience presenting to and engaging with senior client and executive stakeholders
• Experience implementing for Public Sector industry clients is a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Skills

• Expert level technical knowledge and experience building Oracle FCC solutions, including designing leading practice solutions, building rules, Narrative Reports, and data integrations
• Strong functional knowledge of accounting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated experience with MS Office
