About Axya
Axya is building AI-powered technology that's transforming how the manufacturing industry sources and procures parts. Our platform connects manufacturers with suppliers and automates the entire source-to-pay process — from sourcing and quoting to procurement — making it faster, simpler, and more cost-effective for companies sourcing custom parts. By digitizing traditionally manual workflows, Axya enables manufacturers to operate with greater efficiency and competitiveness.
We are proud to cultivate an inclusive and collaborative work environment that fosters innovation, growth, and professional development. As a member of our team, you'll collaborate with passionate, forward-thinking professionals and contribute directly to transforming procurement in the manufacturing sector.
Role Overview
As Integration Lead, you own the strategy, architecture, and hands-on delivery of the integrations that connect Axya to our customers' ERP systems. Our integrations are custom-built adapters and they span two stacks and three deployment models:
- Customer-hosted agents (.NET 8 Windows Services and Python) that talk to on-prem ERPs over SOAP/WCF and REST
- Server-side connectors (Django + Celery) that pull cloud ERP APIs
- An email/document ingestion pipeline that parses PO PDFs when an ERP can only send email
This is a builder-leader role: you'll set the architecture and standards, mentor a small team of integration engineers, review their code, own the reliability of live integrations in production, and be the primary escalation point when a customer's ERP sync breaks.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the integration strategy, architecture, and roadmap across our ERP portfolio: SAP (S/4HANA and BTP), Infor (SyteLine, LN), Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Genius, plus EDI and email/document-based ingestion.
- Design, build, and maintain integrations hands-on across both stacks — Python (Django/DRF/Celery) server-side connectors and .NET/C# customer-hosted agents — including REST/SOAP clients, webhooks, sync queues, and reconciliation logic.
- Own the canonical mapping layer: translate each ERP's purchase-order shape into Axya's model and push confirmations/receptions back, keeping line-key identity round-tripping correctly (our #1 source of silent bugs).
- Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of integration engineers: review their code, set testing/validation standards, and raise quality across the function.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for critical integration incidents — ERP sync failures, data-sync errors, auth/token failures — including live production debugging.
- Own onboarding excellence: cut the time and effort to bring a new customer's ERP live by improving our integration frameworks, connector patterns, simulators, and documentation.
- Harden reliability: sync queues, idempotency, duplicate/loop guards, reconciliation, monitoring and alerting, so integrations meet their SLAs and silent failures go down.
- Partner with customers, product, and engineering leadership to turn messy real-world ERP and procurement requirements into scalable, maintainable integration solutions.
- Own testing and validation standards for integrations before production deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership on the scalability, security, and long-term architecture of the integration platform, and report on integration health and risk.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–8+ years in system integrations, backend/platform engineering, or technical implementation, including leading projects or mentoring engineers.
- Proven experience leading or coordinating a team — as a people manager or a technical/project lead.
- Strong hands-on coding ability, with the range to work across both of our stacks: Python (Django a strong plus) and C#/.NET. Deep strength in one and genuine willingness/ability to operate in the other is expected.
- Deep experience integrating with ERP systems in production (e.g. SAP, Infor, NetSuite, Dynamics, Epicor) — including the messiness of real customer data.
- Strong command of REST APIs, JSON, and web services; comfort with SOAP/WCF and enterprise auth patterns (OAuth2 client-credentials, M2M/JWT, token, Windows auth).
- Solid SQL and relational data modeling (PostgreSQL); strong data-mapping / ETL skills and experience reconciling data across systems that disagree.
- Excellent troubleshooting and architectural judgment, especially under live-incident pressure.
- Strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and customers.
Preferred (Axya-Specific)
- Experience in SaaS / B2B technology companies.
- Familiarity with manufacturing, supply chain, or procurement systems and workflows.
- Experience with async task queues (Celery) and background/data-pipeline processing.
- Experience deploying and operating on-prem/customer-hosted agents (Windows Services, service accounts, firewalled networks).
- Experience with email/mailbox ingestion (Microsoft Graph/Outlook, Gmail, IMAP) and document parsing/extraction, including LLM- or ML-assisted parsing.
- Familiarity with EDI.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP/Azure).
- Prior experience building or scaling an integrations function from the ground up.
- Bilingual (French/English)
