Role Overview:
The Design Engineer – Electrical will be responsible for the electrical design and engineering of power, substation,
and distribution transformers, supporting projects from concept design through manufacturing and testing.
This role requires strong technical expertise in transformer electrical design, analysis, and optimization, along with
the ability to collaborate closely with sales engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing, and quality teams to
deliver high-performance transformer solutions aligned with international standards such as IEEE / ANSI / IEC.
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer & Proposal Engineering Support: Collaborate with the sales team to review customer RFQs
and technical specifications, and develop accurate, technically compliant quotations for transformer
inquiries while minimizing cost and execution risks.
• Design Documentation: Prepare and review electrical design, design calculations, drawings, and
technical reports in line with customer requirements and applicable standards.
• Simulation & Engineering Analysis: Utilize specialized software tools (e.g., Maxwell, Andersen, MATLAB)
for transformer modelling and simulation to enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Customer Engagement: Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions to
provide timely engineering clarifications and build confidence in proposed solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, procurement, and
quality teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and cost-effective.
• Prototype & Production Support: Provide engineering support during prototype development, factory
testing, and production ramp-up, including conducting root cause analysis and driving design
improvements for manufacturing or field issues.
• Technology & Industry Awareness: Stay updated on advancements in transformer design, materials, and
emerging technologies to continuously improve engineering outcomes.
• Process & Standards Development: Support the development and implementation of internal engineering
standards, best practices, and design processes.
