SUMMARY:
Directs institutional housekeeping program to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of establishment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Establishes standards and procedures for the work of housekeeping staff.
- Plans work schedules to ensure adequate services.
- Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of establishment.
- Submits to management recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment, and reallocation of space.
- Periodically inventories supplies and equipment.
- Investigates new and improved cleaning instruments and methods.
- Selects and purchases new furnishings.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Hospitality degree required
- 2-3 years of Housekeeping experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE AND HOURS
- 40-50 hours or more per week. Weekdays, weekends, and Holidays. Schedule flexible as business dictates.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

· This position requires an above average amount of physical labor such as bending, stooping, walking, reaching and standing.
· Should be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Bending/Kneeling
· This position requires an above average amount of physical labor such as bending & stooping.
