About the role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will work closely with our Accounting Director to support both property-level and corporate accounting functions.
You’ll have hands-on responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, and month-end close. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into the details, solving discrepancies, and ensuring the numbers are right.
What you'll do
- Process vendor invoices, including GL coding, property allocation, approvals, and weekly payment processing.
- Assist with accounts receivable, resident accounting, delinquency reporting, and security deposit accounting.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid amortizations, and other recurring entries.
- Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and research discrepancies.
- Support the month-end close and preparation of property-level financial statements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with audit, tax, and year-end reporting needs.
- Work with Entrata, Rippling, and other accounting systems and integrations.
- Help onboard new communities into Bowden Living’s accounting platform.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows.
- Support special projects and financial analysis as the company continues to grow.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or an Associate’s degree with 2+ years of directly relevant accounting experience.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience with exposure to AP, AR, and general ledger functions.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliation schedules.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Even Better If You Have
- Multifamily or property management accounting experience.
- Experience with Entrata or a similar property management platform.
- Experience with Rippling or another payroll/GL integration.
- Trust account or security deposit accounting experience.
- Interest in pursuing your CPA or continuing your professional accounting development.
