The Role

Brainrider is looking for a Social Strategist to own how we show up across our social channels — the strategy behind what we publish, the audiences it reaches, and the growth it drives. This is a hands-on role for someone who has built audiences from the ground up and knows real growth comes from starting conversations. The ideal candidate comes from a consumer-facing brand, where they had to earn attention rather than buy it. You've built video-led, creator-driven social programs people actually want to engage with, and you know each platform has its own language and pace. You'll also help level up how we work — we want someone with strong opinions about tooling who can assess what we have, close the gaps, and build a stack that lets us engage more holistically.

What You’ll Do

Channel Strategy & Content

  • Own organic social strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and Threads, as well as YouTube, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and Reddit — defining the role each channel plays and what success looks like
  • Translate strategy into a working content calendar and a consistent drumbeat of platform-native content, balancing always-on programming with launch moments
  • Bring a strong, well-reasoned point of view — pressure-test ideas and push past safe executions
  • Lead on video-first and interactive formats built for how people actually watch
  • Spot and act on real-time trends, moving from idea to published content without waiting on a brief

Audience Growth & Community

  • Own follower, reach, and engagement growth targets, with a clear thesis on how each channel grows
  • Open up genuine two-way conversation with our core audience — building the response protocols and tone that make engagement feel human, and stepping in personally on high-stakes moments
  • Find the voices, subcommunities, and conversations where our audience already lives, and credible ways for us to participate
  • Turn audience behavior and sentiment into insight for content, product, and brand teams

Creator & Influencer Programs

  • Run creator and influencer programming across sourcing, briefing, and measurement
  • Build the operational backbone — creator database, rate benchmarks, briefing templates, brand safety and platform compliance — so it scales without adding headcount
  • Work with agency partners to deploy UGC and creator strategies that feel native to the creator and on-brand for us

Tooling, Data & Measurement

  • Assess our current social stack and lead its expansion across publishing, listening, community management, creator management, and reporting
  • Bring AI-powered tools and workflows into content, community, and measurement processes to create leverage
  • Own regular reporting across owned social and creator programs, translating data into clear takeaways and in-flight optimizations
  • Define the metrics that matter and hold the work accountable to them

Collaboration

  • Partner with brand, creative, product marketing, comms, and paid media so social is built into campaigns from the start
  • Manage agency and platform partner relationships, including scope, timelines, and quality of output
  • Concept and storyboard ideas, and work with cross-functional partners and influential voices inside and outside the company to bring demos, stories, and content to social

What You’ll Bring

  • 5–8 years in organic social strategy, with hands-on ownership of content, publishing, and community across multiple channels
  • An AI-native approach to social — you use AI to move faster, work smarter, and push the boundaries of what social content, community, and measurement can be
  • A track record of growing social audiences and engagement — channels you moved somewhere meaningfully better, and exactly how
  • Experience developing organic social strategy for a consumer-facing or audience-driven brand, with a track record of earning attention and building community rather than relying primarily on paid distribution
  • Deep platform fluency across Instagram, Facebook, and Threads, as well as YouTube, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and Reddit, with content that performed natively on each
  • Proven ability to build organic conversation and community with a core audience
  • Experience running creator or influencer programs, including sourcing, briefing, and measurement
  • Fluency with the social tooling landscape — publishing, listening, community management, creator management, and analytics — and a point of view on how to evaluate and expand a stack
  • Strong creative instincts and hands-on execution: comfortable concepting, writing, and shaping content yourself
  • A skilled writer with a strong grasp of tone, clarity, and brevity
  • Data-informed but taste-driven — dashboards sharpen your instinct
  • Ability to operate with speed and autonomy, turning a rough idea into shipped content

Desired Qualifications

  • A portfolio of video-led, interactive, or creator-driven programs that broke through
  • Experience building a social function from an early stage, including the systems behind it
  • Experience navigating sensitive topics and escalation alongside comms, legal, or support partners
