1.      Role Purpose : Leads the design, deployment, and management of enterprise virtualization environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. The role focuses on administering virtualized compute, storage, and network infrastructure, supporting cloud integration, and driving infrastructure modernization initiatives.

2.      Key Responsibilities:

•         Manage and maintain enterprise virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, etc.) ensuring high availability and optimal resource utilization.

•         Administer virtual machines, templates, clusters, and storage integration across production and DR environments.

•         Monitor capacity utilization and plan for resource expansion in coordination with data center and cloud teams.

•         Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and replication solutions for virtualized environments.

•         Troubleshoot performance issues, hardware dependencies, and configuration anomalies.

•         Coordinate patching, upgrades, and migration activities with minimal service disruption.

•         Maintain documentation for topology, configuration baselines, and standard operating procedures.

•         Work closely with cloud, storage, and network engineers to design integrated infrastructure solutions.

•         Ensure compliance with IT security policies, hardening guidelines, and audit requirements.

3.      Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

•         Uptime and performance of virtualization infrastructure.

•         Mean time to resolve (MTTR) virtualization incidents.

•         Capacity utilization and optimization efficiency.

•         Compliance with backup, recovery, and patching schedules.

•         SLA adherence for provisioning and change requests.

·       Internal: Collaborates with Data Center, Network, Storage, Cloud Engineering, and IT Security teams to maintain integrated and resilient virtual infrastructure.

·       External: Coordinates with client IT, OEMs, hardware vendors, and support partners for technical escalations, licensing, and infrastructure optimization.
