Data Systems Architect

Job Title: Data Systems Architect                     

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Chief Technology Officer

FLSA Status: This is a full-time (40 hours per week) Exempt level position

Salary: $160-165k

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Systems Architect is responsible for designing, managing, and evolving the organization’s data ecosystem. This role ensures the reliability, scalability, and integrity of data systems across platforms, supporting reporting, analytics, and operational needs. The Data Systems Architect will report to the Chief Technology Officer. This position will play a key role in designing and advancing the organization’s data ecosystem to support scalable systems, high-quality data, and organization-wide insights. This role is 100% remote, with occasional in-office presence for key meetings and collaboration.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and oversee the organization’s data architecture, including data warehouse, operational systems, and integrations
  • Develop and maintain data models, data standards, and governance practices
  • Lead the configuration and optimization of core business systems and their integration with the broader data ecosystem
  • Work with individual business units and the organization as a whole to optimize business processes and design solutions across the organization’s Salesforce instance
  • Supervise the Data Integrations Engineer, overseeing and supporting their work to ensure business continuity
  • Ensure data quality through deduplication, validation, and monitoring processes
  • Establish and enforce data security, access controls, and compliance standards
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define reporting and analytics requirements
  • Lead data-related documentation efforts including data cataloging and mapping
  • Collaborate with other data and systems staff (RDE)
  • Collaborate with and manage external vendors or consultants supporting key platforms, ensuring high quality work and on-time deliverables
  • Work in collaboration with the Data Integrations Engineer to complete data related tasks and projects as needed
  • Manage different data related projects
  • Other Data related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, systems design, or data platform management
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions (Azure preferred)
  • Experience designing data integrations and API-based architectures
  • Strong experience with Salesforce system design, customization and automations
  • Strong understanding of data governance and data quality best practices
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading complex projects involving multiple business units and stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI or similar)
  • Familiarity with Account Engagement or similar email marketing tools
  • Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and database design
