About the role

Job Summary

Residential Support Staff work with one to three individuals with disabilities in their residential setting assisting them with domestic skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, personal errands, community involvement, personal care, medication administration and more!  

 

What you'll do

Essential Job Duties 

• Work with assigned individuals according to weekly schedule.

• Teach/role model the skills each person needs support with according to their Service Plan.

• Support the person to develop connections/relationships in their local community.

• Support and encourage the person in making responsible choices.

• Document daily contact notes, ISSP (Individual Service and Support Plan) Data Tracking, Incident Reports, and assist/complete any other assessments or paperwork for the person.

• Perform various duties necessary to provide assistance with activities of daily living i.e. bathing, meals, lifting, positioning, and transferring.

• Perform various duties necessary to provide assistance with household maintenance i.e. cleaning including deep cleaning, laundry, shopping.

• Notify your supervisor of any problems or concerns regarding the person.

• Attend and successfully complete all required trainings and attend departmental meetings to increase knowledge of programs and people served. Ensure all trainings remain current.

• Bending, reaching, twisting, squatting are required when assisting people served with bathing, repositioning, transferring and other activities of daily living.

•  Lift a minimum of 50 pounds, push/pull a minimum of 200 pounds

 

Other Duties

- Attend team meetings as needed for the person.

- Coordinate transportation or training of public transportation for persons to be able to access his/her

community.

- Maintain communication between the person, family members, and funding source.

- Follow the company's three guiding principles: Team Work, Communication, & Respect.

- Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

•  A High School Diploma or GED is required.

•  A criminal background check must be completed and meet state regulations.

•  A copy of driver's license and liability insurance is required (only in special circumstance will a person not be required to have these documents).

•  Three positive references; at least two from previous employers.

•  Good communication skills regarding written information and verbal information that may be shared with the persons team.

•  Skill in the area of chosen support for the person served, i.e. if the person needs assistance with cooking the staff should know how to cook.

- Hiring Bonus- $250 after 30 days of employment and $250 after six month for full time and part time employees.
